Planned Sewer Main Inspection

Hamlet of Egremont - September 16, 2024

Please note that Thorhild County will be inspecting Egremont’s sewer main starting Monday, September 16, 2024.

On Friday, September 13th, street manholes in the hamlet will be uncovered. Please be cautious of the ongoing work and mindful of the exposed manholes over the weekend. Each manhole will be marked with a pylon on top of it.

At 6:45 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time Tuesday, Environment Canada has issued a tornado warning for South Central Alberta. Extra care and attention should be exercised in and around the following localities: Wolf Lake, Cynthia and Brazeau Dam. Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible. Area: (Yellowhead Co. near Minnow and Wolf Lakes and Elk River)

At 6:45 p.m. MDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible. This thunderstorm is located 45 km southeast of Edson and is moving towards the east at 30 km/h. ### This is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation. Tornado warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing tornadoes. Area: (Yellowhead Co. near Minnow and Wolf Lakes and Elk River)

The County of Grande Prairie has now ended its Wildfire evacuation alert. Area: (This alert is no longer in effect for everyone located north of Township Road 714 to Township Road 734, east of the British Columbia/Alberta border to Range Road 131 due to wildfire.)
