Add an Event

To submit an event, review our criteria and use the “submit an event” form below. Any incomplete or missing information may prevent an event from being advertised on the Community Event Calendar.

Submissions must be received five (5) business days prior to the event.

All events must be located within Thorhild County. At the discretion of the Chief Administrative Officer or designate, events located outside Thorhild County may be considered for those organizations that serve Thorhild County.

Acceptable Community Event postings include:

  • Organized by a government-funded agency or board.
  • Organized by a Thorhild County-affiliated group.
  • Funded in full or in part by Thorhild County.
  • Organized by a charitable organization or a not-for-profit organization and operating within Thorhild County.
  • Organized by a service group or social or recreational group operating within Thorhild County.
    • Exceptions are groups that serve Thorhild County or include Thorhild County residents or businesses in their membership.

As per Community Events Advertising Policy 1406, submissions containing any of the following forms of content shall not be allowed for posting:

Content that promotes, fosters, or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, religious beliefs, colour, gender, gender identity, gender expression, physical disability, mental disability, age, ancestry, place of origin, marital status, source of income, family status, and sexual orientation.

    At 5:06 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time Wednesday, Environment Canada has issued a tornado warning for South Central Alberta. Extra care and attention should be exercised in and around the following localities: Wolf Lake, Cynthia and Brazeau Dam. Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible. Area: (Brazeau Co. near Cynthia and Lodgepole)

    At 5:05 p.m. MDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible. The thunderstorm that may produce a tornado is located just west of Lodgepole, and is heading to the east at 15 km/h. Very large tennis ball sized hail and strong winds are also possible. ### This is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation. Tornado warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing tornadoes. Area: (Brazeau Co. near Cynthia and Lodgepole)
