The Thorhild Industrial Area Structure Plan was initiated to encourage economic development throughout the County. A drive through the County reveals seven hamlets, business services, diversified farms, greenhouses, and recreation facilities for all ages. The hamlet of Thorhild is the largest service area within the County boundary.
Thorhild County is a summer and winter adventure tourism & visitor destination. If you enjoy swimming and relaxing on the beach and scenic little campgrounds, then Long Lake Provincial Park and Half Moon Lake Natural Area are both a short drive from anywhere in the County. White Earth Valley Natural Area is a naturalist's gem for hiking, mountain biking and trail riding in the summer or snowmobiling and Nordic skiing in the winter.
