It is also located in proximity to Alberta's Industrial Heartland region ideal for attraction of logistical and supply chain development.

Thorhild County also offers a Business Incentive Grant Program and Non-Residential Small Business Sub-Class Bylaw as part of their Business & Investment Attraction Program (see "Business Bylaws"). The County has commercial, industrial and residential property for sale (see "Public Notices" as well "Property Listings"). The Thorhild Industrial Area Structure Plan was initiated to encourage economic development throughout the County. This new Area is close to three phase power, Alberta's Industrial Heartland area, and existing municipal infrastructure.
A drive through the County reveals seven hamlets, business services, diversified farms, greenhouses, and recreation facilities for all ages. The hamlet of Thorhild is the largest service area within the County boundary.
Thorhild County is a summer and winter adventure tourism & visitor destination. If you enjoy swimming and relaxing on the beach and scenic little campgrounds, then Long Lake Provincial Park and Half Moon Lake Natural Area are both a short drive from anywhere in the County. White Earth Valley Natural Area is a naturalist's gem for hiking, mountain biking and trail riding in the summer or snowmobiling and Nordic skiing in the winter. Also enjoy the Long Lake Ski-Hill, U-Pick Berry Farm and the Observatory to name just a few of our attractions.
