The Safety Codes Act requires that all contractors and homeowners in Alberta obtain permits prior to commencing work on buildings covered by the Alberta Building Code or work governed by the Canadian Electrical Code, the Alberta Gas Code or the Alberta Plumbing Code.

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms which may produce tornadoes. Strong winds, large hail and heavy rain are also possible. There is a slight risk that a severe thunderstorm could develop this afternoon and produce a tornado. Telus landline and cellular service is currently disrupted to Carbon, Acme, Linden and surrounding areas in Kneehill County. Telus customers cannot make or receive calls in the affected areas, including 9-1-1 calls. Crews are working to restore service. There is no estimated time for service restoration.
