Emergency Alerts

This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. Sturgeon County's Wildfire Evacuation Order remains in effect. Alert Area Lifted.

The Alert Area is on the map in blue. This was the area advised to prepare for possible evacuation, including all areas located from Rge Rd 203 East to the North Sask River and all areas from Rge Rd 213 West to Rge Rd 223, and the Town of Redwater. This area is no longer “on alert” effective 16:45hrs/4:45PM on May 12, 2025. The Evacuation Order Area is on the map in red. This Evacuation Order remains in effect and includes all areas located from Rge Rd 213 East to Rge Rd 203, all areas located from Township Road 580 South to the North Sask River. Telus landline services have been restored for both landline and wireless services. Area: (This alert was in effect for Acme, Carbon, Linden and surrounding areas in Kneehill County.)

This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. Kneehill County has issued an emergency alert.

Telus landline and cellular service is currently disrupted to Carbon, Acme, Linden and surrounding areas in Kneehill County. Telus customers cannot make or receive calls in the affected areas, including 9-1-1 calls. Crews are working to restore service. There is no estimated time for service restoration. At 6:12 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time Thursday, Environment Canada has issued a tornado warning for South Central Alberta. Extra care and attention should be exercised in and around the following localities: Nanton, Stavely and Claresholm. Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible. At 6:12 p.m. MDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible. This possible tornado is located 25 km southwest of Claresholm and is moving southeast at 20 km/h. ### This is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation. Tornado warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing tornadoes. Area: (M.D. of Willow Creek near Claresholm and Stavely)
