Emergency Services Survey

Attention Thorhild County Property Owners:

In response to the Town Hall Meeting held on May 30, 2023, regarding the Emergency Services Bylaw, Thorhild County recently mailed a survey to all County property owners, asking how costs related to emergency services should be charged.

The survey proposes three options. Please complete the survey by selecting one option and returning it to the Thorhild County Administration Building at 801 - 1st Street, Thorhild, or mailing it to Box 10, Thorhild, AB T0A 3J0.

The submission deadline is July 14, 2023.

At 6:12 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time Thursday, Environment Canada has issued a tornado warning for South Central Alberta. Extra care and attention should be exercised in and around the following localities: Nanton, Stavely and Claresholm. Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible. Area: (M.D. of Willow Creek near Claresholm and Stavely)

At 6:12 p.m. MDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible. This possible tornado is located 25 km southwest of Claresholm and is moving southeast at 20 km/h. ### This is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation. Tornado warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing tornadoes. Area: (M.D. of Willow Creek near Claresholm and Stavely)
