Thorhild County maintains a Municipal Emergency Management Plan that details steps to be taken in the event of an emergency occurring within the County.  Such emergencies could include incidents involving wildfires, dangerous goods, utility and water failures, extreme weather and environmental incidents and transportation incidents.

Information Alert Update - Traffic Hazard - Jan 17, 2022 at 04:25PM

This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. Parkland County has updated the Traffic Hazard Alert. This alert is in effect for: Parkland County. Driving conditions throughout Parkland County are potentially dangerous and very poor. As the temperature drops and the rain turns to snow, visibility will be further reduced overnight. If you are in the affected area: Restrict travel this evening and overnight to essential travel only. Travel is not recommended on roadways in Parkland County, including Highways 16, 16 A, 43, 44, 770 and 779. Emergency Services and roadway maintenance vehicles are active throughout the County. Please give crews space to work. Slow down and drive to conditions if you must drive. For details visit or stay tuned to local media.
