Severe winter weather conditions in south central Alberta are making safe travel impossible. Area highways and roads may be closed without notice, and emergency service may not be available in some areas. Area: (This alert is in effect for areas north and east of Calgary, as far north as Olds and as far east as Youngstown (see attached map).)

Water quality testing is still underway. The precautionary Boil Water Advisory remains in effect until testing confirms there is no contamination. This will be the final Alberta Emergency Alert related to this Boil Water Advisory. Ongoing updates will be provided through the Town of Penhold’s website and social media channels. Area: (The Boil Water Advisory remains in effect for areas within Penhold south of Minto Street. )

During routine testing of the water supply, low chlorine levels were found. Water samples have been taken and are being processed by the provincial laboratory. A boil water advisory has been issued as a precaution. The precautionary Boil Water Advisory will remain in effect until water quality testing confirms there is no contamination. Area: (This alert is in effect for areas within Penhold South of Minto Street.)
