A full Fire Ban is in effect throughout Thorhild County. Current conditions are considered extreme. The following are prohibted: all outdoor burning, the use of explosive targets, and the discharge of fireworks. All forms of vehicles can be a serious source of ignition in extreme conditions. Use caution when working or driving in grassy areas.

Emergency Alerts

This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. Sturgeon County has expanded its Wildfire Evacuation Order.

The evacuations are a result of the wildfire burning near the Redwater Rec Area. Area: (The evacuation order has been extended from Township Road 580 south to the North Saskatchewan River between Range Road 213 East to Range Road 203. Everyone in this area must evacuate immediately. See attached map for details.)
