Traffic Advisory: Temporary Lane Closure – Opal Highway

Between TWP RD 584 and TWP RD 582

A temporary lane closure is in effect on Opal Highway between TWP RD 584 and TWP RD 582 due to a road shoulder washout.

Crews are currently working in the area to complete repairs. Please use caution when traveling through the work zone and follow all posted signage and directions from flaggers, who will be on site to assist with traffic control.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to restore the roadway and reopen all lanes as quickly and safely as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

Heavy rainfall over the past 24 hours has pushed the City's wastewater system to capacity, with localized flooding and backups being reported. If the wastewater system continues to operate over-capacity, flooding and sewer backups will continue to increase. Area: (This alert is in effect for the entire City of St. Albert. )

At 3:52 p.m. MDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible. This dangerous thunderstorm is located 10 km west of Medicine Hat and is moving to the southeast at 65 km/h. Communities in the path include: Southwest Medicine Hat Seven Persons ### This is a very dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation. Tornado warnings are issued when a thunderstorm is producing or is likely to produce a tornado. Area: (Cypress Co. near Bowell and Redcliff, Cypress Co. near Seven Persons, City of Medicine Hat)

At 3:28 p.m. MDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible. This dangerous thunderstorm is located just west of Suffield and is moving to the southeast at 65 km/h. Communities in the path include: Suffield Ralston ### This is a very dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation. Tornado warnings are issued when a thunderstorm is producing or is likely to produce a tornado. Area: (Cypress Co. near Suffield and Hwy 879, Cypress Co. near Bowell and Redcliff)
