This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. The County of Northern Lights has issued a Wildfire Alert Update

The Slims Creek Fire (PWF050), in the vicinity of Twin Lakes has grown. Active fire areas continue to spread in the northwest and southeast corners. Minimal rain, temperatures and wind conditions affirm that wildfire season remains active in the County. Area: (This Alert is for everyone in the Hawkhills area.)

Severe thunderstorms have developed over east-central Alberta and are moving to the northeast. Some of these thunderstorms have the potential to produce a tornado. The greatest risk for tornadoes will be before 8 PM local time. Any tornado that develops will likely be brief but still capable of property damage. This tornado risk will diminish by sunset. ### This is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation. Tornado watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce tornadoes. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ABstorm@ec.gc.ca, call 1-800-239-0484 or post reports on X using #ABStorm.
