This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. Thorhild County has updated its wildfire alert.

There is a wildfire in the Redwater Provincial Recreation Area. Residents may return home but must remain prepared for a possible evacuation.

Area: This alert is in effect for everyone in southeast Thorhild County between the Correction Line and the boundary of Sturgeon County.

Thorhild County No. 7

Action to take:

Thorhild County has downgraded the Evacuation Order to an Evacuation Alert for everyone located on Range Roads 203 - 214 and Township Roads 580 - 584
Residents of Thorhild County may return to their homes, but must remain prepared for a possible evacuation with 1 hour's notice if conditions change

At 6:21 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time Wednesday, Environment Canada has updated a severe thunderstorm warning for Southeastern Alberta. Extra care and attention should be exercised. The following localities are included in the warning: Schuler, Sandy Point Park, Redcliff, Suffield, Dinosaur Park, Buffalo and Empress. Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a very dangerous thunderstorm capable of producing damaging wind gusts, up to baseball size hail and heavy rain. The following localities are included in the warning: Medicine Hat, Bow Island, Suffield, Brooks, Strathmore and Vulcan. Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a very dangerous thunderstorm capable of producing damaging wind gusts, up to baseball size hail and heavy rain. Area: (Co. of Newell near Brooks Rosemary and Duchess, Co. of Newell near Scandia and Kinbrook Island Prov. Park, Cypress Co. near Tide Lake, S.A. 2 near Iddesleigh and Dinosaur Prov. Park, Co. of Newell near Patricia, Co. of Newell near Tilley and Rolling Hills)

Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a very dangerous thunderstorm capable of producing damaging wind gusts, up to baseball size hail and heavy rain. Area: (Vulcan Co. near Lomond Travers and Little Bow Reservoirs, Vulcan Co. near Milo, Co. of Newell near Bassano, Co. of Newell near Brooks Rosemary and Duchess, Co. of Newell near Scandia and Kinbrook Island Prov. Park)
