Fire Ban downgraded to Fire Advisory
Recent rainfall has increased the moisture content of surface and ground fuels; however, overall groundwater and natural water reservoirs remain low.
The following activities continue to be prohibited:
- Any fire requiring a Fire Permit
The following activities are allowed:
- Burn Barrels and Incinerators
- Recreational fires and backyard fire pits
- Propane and natural gas-powered appliances
- Charcoal barbeques
Thorhild County urges everyone to use care when performing allowed activities. Even the smallest grass/brush fire can quickly become out of control with strong winds. Ensure fire extinguishers or sources of water are readily available.
Off Highways vehicles within the borders of Thorhild County including public lands are allowed. Care should be used to ensure these vehicles do not become a source of ignition for light ground fuels. Carrying a fire extinguisher on the vehicle is recommended.
