Before visiting the Family Centre at the Newthorad Lodge, please review the following information to help keep the space safe and welcoming for everyone.

Arrival and directions

Please park on the street and enter through the main entrance. To reduce trip and slip hazards for the lodge residents, please remove dirty & wet footwear and place it under the bench in the entryway. Proceed past the lodge’s main office. The dining area will be on your left. Walk through it to the first hallway on your right. The Family Centre and office (Room C2) will be on your left. Personal items may be stored in the Family Centre office.

While you're here

As we share the lodge with others, please keep hallways clear and use quiet voices when moving through the building. Please remind children that there is no running inside the lodge. To help prevent burns and slips from spills, all beverages hot and cold should be consumed from cups with lids. Children should be seated with their caregiver or at the table while eating snacks. Please let program staff know about any food allergies.

The change table and washroom are in Room C2. Children must be accompanied by an adult when using the washroom. Please place soiled diapers in the Diaper Genie there. The office is not childproof, so please keep a close eye on children while using that space.

When you’re feeling unwell

If you or your child has a fever, a new cough or sore throat, vomiting, or diarrhea, we encourage you to rest at home and join us when you’re feeling better. Following Alberta Health Services guidance, please return when respiratory symptoms are improving, you feel well enough to participate, and you’ve been fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication. After vomiting or diarrhea, please wait 48 hours after the last episode before returning.
