Road Closures Notice

Various roads between July 29- 31, 2025

Please be advised of the upcoming temporary road closures for scheduled repairs, set to take place starting Tuesday, July 29, 2025, to Thursday, July 31, 2025:

July 29: RR 194 between TWP RD 631A and TWP RD 622
July 30: RR between TWP RD 582 and a dead end to the north
July 31:Continued work on RR between TWP RD 582 and a dead end to the north

The closures will occur daily from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. We recommend planning alternate routes during this time. Thank you for your cooperation.

Telus landline and cellular service is currently disrupted to Carbon, Acme, Linden and surrounding areas in Kneehill County. Telus customers cannot make or receive calls in the affected areas, including 9-1-1 calls. Crews are working to restore service. There is no estimated time for service restoration. At 6:12 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time Thursday, Environment Canada has issued a tornado warning for South Central Alberta. Extra care and attention should be exercised in and around the following localities: Nanton, Stavely and Claresholm. Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible. Area: (M.D. of Willow Creek near Claresholm and Stavely)

At 6:12 p.m. MDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible. This possible tornado is located 25 km southwest of Claresholm and is moving southeast at 20 km/h. ### This is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation. Tornado warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing tornadoes. Area: (M.D. of Willow Creek near Claresholm and Stavely)
