Thorhild Centennial Park & Campground

The park area surrounds the Thorhild Swimming Pool and located near the campground.

This site has:

  • Playground (includes various equipment for ages 18 months - 12 years)
  • Multicourt
  • Picnic Tables
  • Benches
  • Fire pits (located by the campground)
  • Cook Shack (located by the campground)

Please contact the Thorhild County Administration Office for any questions, inquiries or to report any broken or damaged equipment at 780-398-3741.


Thorhild Centennial Campground

This campground is located next to the Thorhild Swimming Pool and has 8 un-serviced sites, cook shack, fire pits, picnic table and washroom facility.

  • This Campground is a first come/first served self registering campground
  • Fee is $20/site/night
  • Generators may be used from 9am—9pm
  • Each site is allowed 1 trailer or tent and 1 vehicle
  • You must register at the Thorhild County Administration Office located at 801-1st Street or you can call to pay by visa or mastercard 780-398-3741 during regular business hours (8am-4:30pm Monday to Friday, closed stat holidays)
  • Quiet time is from 11PM to 9AM
  • Pets must be leashed at all times
  • Fires must be in supplied Fire Pits and fully extinguished when done
  • Shower facilities may be used at the Thorhild Swimming Pool during regular open hours

Hamlet of Thorhild Recreational Vehicle Sewer Dumping station is located at 11-7th avenue. (Thorhild Community Hall parking lot)  It is Closed for the season.

A water main break resulted in depressurization and potential water quality impacts. Water quality testing is ongoing. The Boil Water Advisory remains in effect. This will be the final Alberta Emergency Alert related to this Boil Water Advisory. Ongoing updates will be provided through the Calgary website at https://www.calgary.ca/emergencies/feeder-main-repair/bearspaw-water-main-break.html Area: (The Boil Water Advisory remains in effect for parts of Montgomery, Parkdale, Point McKay and West Hillhurst.)

This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. Alberta RCMP have issued a Dangerous Person Alert.

An extremely dangerous man, Curtis Halliday, has multiple firearms and has already shot at multiple individuals near Grande Prairie. Curtis is 6 foot 3, caucasion with brown eyes and brown hair. He is on the run in a black 2022 Ford F-350, licence plate CMZ0105. Curtis was last known to be in the area northwest of Grande Prairie near LaGlace. Area: (This alert is in effect for northwestern Alberta, between Grande Prairie, Rycroft, and the B.C. border.)
