Cash Lease Agreement

Thorhild County has the following land available for lease for agricultural purposes:

PARCEL No.

  1. Pt SW 31-59-21-W4 – approx. 20 acres (hay pasture)
  2. SE 08-60-21-W4, 2A, SW 08-60-21-W4 – East side of tracks & 2B, NE 05-60-21-W4 – approx. 170 cultivated acres
  3. SW 08-60-21-W4 – West side of tracks – approx. 55 cultivated acres
  4. Pt SE-31-59-21-W4 – approx. 4.5 acres hay
  5. Pt SW 16-60-21-W4 – (old landfill) – approx. 13.5 acres hay


Tenders shall describe the proposed crop rotation of land for a six (6) year term. The lease will commence April 15, 2022, and end on April 15, 2028.

To prevent CLUBROOT infestation, Canola will be grown once every three (3) years.

The County reserves the right to terminate the lease agreement at any time, with compensation to the Lessee for time and expenses incurred at reasonable rates.

Please submit written tenders to the attention of Clarence Dowhan, Agricultural Fieldman, Box 10, 801 – 1st Street, THORHILD, Alberta T0A 3J0. Deadline is Thursday, May 5, 2022, at 4:30 p.m.
