Development Permit Application

Groundwork for construction of your project may not commence until you have obtained a development permit. Development permits are issued by the County of Thorhild and may take up to 2-3 weeks before being issued. Please read the Development Site Plan Requirements Checklist for additional information.

Building Permit Application

Contruction cannot start until you have received your building permit. Building permits are issued by the building inspector with Inspections Group Inc. If your project involves building from stick, engineered foundation and truss plans are required at the time of application and before a building permit can be issued. Building permits take up to 4 weeks before being issued.

Mobile Home Permit Application

Building codes vary from province to province. When an existing manufactured home is to be relocated and does not have an AMA (Alberta Municipal Affairs) label, but has a CSA (Canadian Standards Associaiton) label, the unit should be inspected by an SCO (Safety Codes Officer).

Garage Permit Application

Private Sewage Disposal System Application

The 2009 sewage regulations now require the work to be conducted by a certified sewage intaller. Certified installers will prepare the required paperwork that is necessary for issuance of the permit. Sewage permits are only issued by Inspections Group Inc. Sewage permits may take up to 4 weeks before being issued. Please read the Private Sewage Disposal Separation Distances Form for additional information.

Electrical, plumbing and gas permits are issued by the County of Thorhild, Planning and Development Department within 48 hours.
