Welcome to Recreation Country!   Recreational opportunities exist in abundance in Thorhild County.

Changes to fees at the Thorhild Swimming Pool and Long Lake Ski Hill Facility 

Based on Thorhild County issued Identification cards, any County residents, provided a government photo identification is produced, will receive free lessons and use at the Long Lake Ski Hill facility.  

Thorhild County Residents and the general public will be given free access for Public Swims at the Thorhild Swimming Pool including any lesson offered, with priority given to Thorhild County residents. 

Identification cards are mailed in December; to the all persons named on the title of the residential property on the Thorhild County tax roll.  Additional Resident Identification Cards are available for a dependents 16 years of age and older; others residing at the residence who are not on the land title; and for renter.   For additional cards, proof of residency will be required, such as a drivers license, utility bill, income tax, or lease agreement.

Gravel interior roads. On the shore of Half Moon Lake, with a sandy swimming beach. 

DirectionsTravel 14 km west of Thorhild on Highway 18, then turn south on Range Road 232 and continue 12 km. 

OR  29 km north of Bon Accord on Lily Lake Road and then 3 km east.

 

The Park is for day use only.

2019 Half Moon Lake Campground Fees


A Pleasure Craft Operator Card is required to operate power-drive boats and watercraft in Canada.  For more information on obtaining your Pleasure Craft Operator Card, click this link

Half Moon Lake Natural Area 

Located around  Half Moon Lake, this Natural Area provides walking trails, an outdoor classroom, and many other opportunities for all ages to enjoy the Natural Area.
